Who: everyone When: immediately after this Where: court room
Kai understood peoples reservations; no matter what way you looked at it this whole thing was stupid, and it was pretty shitty that Lila was lumped in. It was uncomfortable business, but Kai just wanted it done. "Great, so we're agreed, yeah?" she asked, once it seemed that all discussion had run its course. She grabbed a piece of paper and a pen, scribbled a message, and folded the paper in half. "Let's get this show on the road." She stood and shifted Emma to her hip, leading the way back out into the courtroom. Without looking at anybody, Kai put the paper on the edge of Oliver's podium and hurried to her seat. She sank into it with a sigh, finally looking at their so-called judge to see what kind of response, if any, he'd have. She'd written:
We the jury do find the defendant like SO FUCKING GUILTY OH MY GOD and do solemnly swear this entire mess is bullshit.
Kai figured that probably summed it up for everybody, whether they were willing to say as much or not.
