Cecilia nodded. "Thank you," she said. "I have no more questions, for anyone." She turned, not to the jury, but to Lila. "I'm sorry," she told her. "I don't know you, but I can't possibly imagine you deserve this. If I had it my way, you and Simms wouldn't be lumped together to share any sort of punishment. But that doesn't change the situation we're faced with now," she said, now looking to their jury. "We were told that you had to decide whether or not he is guilty. Not if he deserves to be removed and Lila with him, or if he should be freed into Erran's observation and treatment. In this specific instance, we have not been given the opportunity to decide on anything but whether or not he's guilty." She pointed at Simms. "He admitted himself before all of us that he assaulted Juno. Nothing else matters. He did it, for whatever reason, and that is not acceptable. We've all got our full of trauma, our hands full of dealing with what They do to us on a regular basis. It is unacceptable that we should have to fear each other as well. This game, this farce of a trial, it's all ridiculous. But we are given no choice but to play by their terms. If he is found innocent, they want him released, and put in a position of power. I don't think anyone in this room could honestly say that's a good idea. Please, find him guilty, and hope for the best. We can only take this one day at a time."
