The change in focus was good, and Jack was happy to switch back into gear, pointing out the items he'd poured into the little measuring spoons. "Okay, we've got two teaspoons of chili powder, one of cumin, half of cinnamon, and a quarter of cayenne pepper." He went slow, tapping a finger on the counter top in front of each one as he listed them off, making sure she knew which was which so she might be able to recognize them better if she ever used them again. "We're gonna toss all this in and cook it until it's toasted, which won't take more than a minute or two. Then we're gonna add in the chicken broth," he gestured to the one and a half cups of liquid he'd set aside easier, "along with ketchup, vinegar, molasses and the honey. That's gonna start to boil after a few minutes, and then we're gonna toss the pork in."
He gestured to the first line of ingredients. "Alright, you can start putting these in. Doesn't matter what order, but you're gonna have to keep stirring so we get a nice, even toast on 'em."
