Juno nodded to Marco, the corners of her mouth going up a little bit at his promise. She leaned her head against his shoulder again, slurping on her milkshake while people around her threw suggestions into the mix. Truth was, of all the subjects to be talking about food really was the best one, since Juno loved food almost more than life itself sometimes. She pretended to be disappointed when Jack refrained from singing, however; she just wanted to see if she could laugh at all today. Instead, she tapped her fingers onto the milkshake glass, which she never did unless on high doses of anxiety. Cool, she thought.
Foodie science lab sounded good, though. Anything but sitting here, please. She nodded at every single idea - except the peas smoothie one - and hoped Jack was writing this down. When Cecilia offered her own suggestion, Juno slurped, licked her lips, then put her glass down.
"Someone should be writing this down." she said without conviction. The tapping continued, this time with the straw against the glass. Juno saw the sad, lonely strawberry and chocolate milkshake sitting on the table untouched. "Is no one else having this thing here?"
When no one seemed to claim it, she did. Chocolate was supposed to help, right? Release good chemicals into the brain, make people happy. Right. She took a big slurp. "This is good sh- stuff, boss."
