Juno wanted to scream, yet again, for Marco to stop with the meaningless platitudes but she knew that he, like Cecilia, were only doing what they could for her. She gave a trembling inhale when he told her she was strong. She didn't feel so at the moment. Juno tightened her arms around Marco while he spoke.
"I'm trying," she replied, having no way to tell him how much what he'd just said meant to her. To hear Marco tell her he'd be strong so she wouldn't have to wasn't something she had ever imagined could happen. After a while she pulled away a little to look at him. "Ce-uh she-" Juno motioned to Cecilia. "Said she wouldn't leave me either. She's going to the diner with me and staying there just in case."
Juno breathed deeply. "I'm going to be at the trial. This is not going on without me. That's as strong as I can be right now. She also said that we, we can stay at theirs tonight. But I don't know if... If you're okay with that. I understand if you're not. It's not about her but the sheriff who's releasing that beast is the last person in whose couch I want to nap tonight."
