Kiley set the pot on the stove and turned on the burner. Then she got to work finding a can opener to get the milk open and in the bottle. "You're smart," she said, "you'll figure things out. And I'm sure Oliver knows how to do some of that stuff. He could probably help you if you have questions." Once the milk was in the bottle and resting in the water, Kiley turned back toward Chase to take the cash. Thirty dollars. Thank god stuff was cheaper in the fifties.
"What kind of wife would I be if I made you nothing but sandwiches," Kiley teased. "I can figure out a budget or whatever. And I'll see if they have cigarettes. And maybe stop by the clinic to get birth control too. See? I have a full day ahead of me." Of doing adult things that didn't sound at all exciting, but if it helped get them points, she would suck it up. Kiley chewed on her lip for a second. "There's probably a stroller somewhere. It'll be fine."
