Who: Owen and Simms and then Owen and Cecilia When: Morning Where: The Police Dept. to start with....
Waking up in unfamiliar territory was not unusual for Owen anymore. Anytime he fell asleep in the mansion, he half expected something like this to happen. Waking up in a creaky wooden chair, in what appeared to be a police station was... different. And it wasn't Zenith's police station, though it was just as dated. Grimacing as he sat up, Owen looked down at his clothes. A tan police uniform. And he had a goddamn Sheriff's badge pinned to his shirt. Along with an enveloped that said READ ME.
"Christ, nothing good can be written in this," Owen muttered as he tugged the envelope off the pin and opened it. He reread the letter three times before running a hand through his hair. That was when he noted the watch. That's where they would keep track of his points. They wanted them to play make believe? For points? Bribery... listing things they desperately needed for the house to survive winter, among other things. A new shop, winter transportation, renovations... mementos from home.
Not only did They want them to play make believe, but They wanted them to play make believe in the 1950s. Where women were obedient homemakers who had babies and listened to their husbands. Owen set the paper down on the desk in front of him and rubbed both hands over his face. Oh dear god, this was not going to go over well. Did he resist? Laugh? They needed things for the mansion desperately, but he hadn't never been much of an actor.
Taking a deep breath, Owen pulled out the small piece of paper with his character summary on it. A gruff Sheriff. Fought in the war. Upper class. Married. Owen's gaze was drawn to the wedding ring he wore. He had an itch to remove it, but resisted. It was only pretend. And thank Jesus he was 'married' to Cecilia and not say, Pam. Folding the papers, Owen stood, trying not to lament on how much he looked like Andy Taylor right then.
Owen decided to take a quick look around the police department slash town hall before he left to go find Cecilia. It was a small building, but that made sense, considering how few of them there were. He headed for the cell block, just to make sure Simms was locked away inside one, rather than being let free for sake of the 'game'.
