"I'll check later," Damon said, his own voice sounding sleepy. At least they'd be able to check when they were down here. "I'd guess lots of freakin' out by almost everyone." He sounded almost bored at the prospect. He had an escape hatch; too bad for those who didn't. He could remember one winter when there'd been no heat in their house because his mother hadn't paid the bill, and he wasn't keen on reliving that type of experience. Luckily he didn't have to.
He was warming up, comfortable now with everything covered up except for his head, but he managed a lazy smile at Madison's comment. She was crazy, but at least it was the fun kind of crazy.
