"One of the reasons they took us is apparently genetic, or so I was told," he went on. "Threatened with the information, actually. The fourth character on your ID bracelet is supposedly the number of matches in your family, should you prove of ill use to their purposes. They threatened to replace me with my grandson if I didn't cooperate. I cooperated, but still don't know if this is the truth or a long con of theirs, some sort of scare tactic perhaps. For what it's worth, everyone went over their numbers last night and no one was able to say it wasn't a match. It seems to run steadily the amount of siblings and children -- no parents or older generations."
