Cecilia's smile was briefly a bit more genuine. "And I don't know that I'm even that, just bossy, and apparently people respond better to it than I would have expected." She chuckled softly, and Neptune sat at her feet.
The nurse felt a bit of unease creep in at the revelation of Kate's adoption, and like Reginald had, she found herself wanting to ask Kate for her subject number before she went on. She didn't. It wasn't her style, and it would have felt like prying. She understand why Reginald went about it the way he had; he'd been trying to test the system and confirm it in his mind before he troubled people with the knowledge. Cecilia felt no need to continue that. She believed in ripping off the bandaid. "Reginald stopped cooperating at one point while he was away, and they threatened him. They told him that we're all here because of something genetic, and whatever it is we've got, we'd share with siblings and children and maybe even cousins and stuff." She pointed to the bracelet on her wrist. "The fourth character is apparently how many other matches are in your family if they decide to replace you. Reginald has... quite a lot. They told him it'd be one of his grandkids."
