Generally, Edwin was not late to things. It was a weird thing that bothered him, not being punctual. He was the type to show up early and then wait in his car until it didn't look like he was too early, and then walk into a place, still early, and wait. He didn't mind waiting.
He felt the same way about parties, but tonight he hadn't arrived until a little after the fun had started. He blamed Oliver, but that was far from a bad thing. Their rendezvous in the shower was long overdue, though, again, Edwin hadn't minded the wait. Oliver's comfort was more important.
Currently, Edwin wasn't comfortable, but in the best way, and while he was without his kind-of date, he treated himself to a celebratory drink. He was usually more of a beer guy, but every so often, during a party, he'd have a couple sweet drinks, if the atmosphere and music was right. Tonight, he nursed a hurricane as he introduced himself to Kai, and admitted that while he was upset that she hadn't been sent back home, he was glad that she seemed to be well enough for karaoke, and he took the moment of her being away from the karaoke machine to step in himself and laugh through a rendition of Bills Bills Bills, before going and fixing himself a second hurricane.
Once he'd downed the third drink, he stood back up and sang Bootylicious before vowing that he was done with karaoke, but not done with hurricanes. He hadn't meant to get drunk, but those sweet drinks really had a way of sneaking up on him, and as he mixed his fourth cup, he poured even more rum as he tried to multitask and adjust his hat-and-crown combo with his free hand. Oliver was missing a fun party, but Edwin was having a great time. Maybe he would get up and do another song...
