Reginald listened carefully, filing it all away in his mental vault. Some of this, he had read about on the network -- or at least read vague mentions of that now made sense. Some of it was just bits he'd skimmed that now made sense. He was very interested to hear anything Cecilia would tell him about this security council, but she didn't focus on it much. He didn't blame her for that. He had seen on the network that it was just as new to the house as he was. Perhaps he'd come back at a good time.
She did not say anything that made him think they knew what he knew. Before he could direct the conversation where he wanted it to go, she'd mentioned the dog. Reginald couldn't help but smile warmly. "Good, good," he said, another nod of approval. "I'm glad. You could have brought him with you here. I should be quite chuffed to see a dog right about now." Any animals, really -- but especially dogs.
"I take it no one has learned anything about why we are here," he said. "Seems the sort of thing you'd tell me. It also seems the sort of thing that end up on the welcoming speeches for the new people. Nothing at all? No leads?"
