"Yeah, Chase was working on that map for a while," Jack nodded, flipping the omelets with a swift tug on the skillets before setting them down again. "A lot of the shit in town is falling apart, like the houses and the school, but the rest is like they paused the town on a Leave It To Beaver rerun." He frowned to himself, muttering to himself. "Was that in the fifties?" Shaking his head a heartbeat later, he continued on. "Anyway, Cecilia's pretty much the boss around here so she's definitely a good person to ask."
He moved to pour two mugs of tea, then slid the omelets onto two plates along with a knife and fork on each. Balancing one plate on his forearm and the other in his hand, he grabbed the mugs by the handles in the other and carried it all easily to the table. Gently setting the mugs down, he planted a plate in front of each of them, backing up a step. "Did anybody tell you what was going on with the guy in the basement at all?"
