In another life, in another place, Daniel might have noticed Jack's minute hesitation. Here and now, it was only a momentary blip of silence in an otherwise well paced conversation. He breathed in the heady smell of cooking meat. His tongue flicked out to trace his lower lip.
"Oh, that's all right," Daniel said. "The government is as good a guess as any. It's mine too, if I'm honest. And as I understand it, nobody's the best person to ask. The only help I've gotten yet is a map and some pretty helpful info from Chase, I think was his name, and a little encouragement from Oliver. Someone suggested I talk to Cecilia, so I think she needs to be my next stop."
