Juno snickered at Marco's reply, counting his lack of tact as a blessing most often than not. She wasn't a fan of bullshit or beating around the bush, and the fact that him saying that would mean he wasn't just being nice was also a relief. Laughing again at his brief moment of attempted self-awareness, Juno filled her cheeks with air then blew it out, making a sound as she shrugged. "Dunno. Probably not. Which is cool, I don't dig bullshit and people talk a lot of it."
When Marco lowered his arm it was Juno's turn to freeze, her mouth opening just a tad as her eyes went wide with something she couldn't quite qualify. Surprise? Nerves? Whatever it was it made her shiver involuntarily and she felt as if a current had suddenly gone through her. She hoped he didn't notice that, or how warm her face felt. And he certainly wouldn't notice how warm and tingly she'd started to feel inside; she couldn't remember the last time someone had put an arm around her waist, much less someone she...didn't hate on principle. She bit her lip and inhaled, trying to settle down whatever the hell this had been. Usually Juno didn't have butterflies, she had big, terrifying locusts. These were definitely not those.
"I'd never talk to her about you. I think she's cool but she misunderstands you. Plus, this isn't about you at all except for the part where you've kind of kept me grounded a bit. But you're right, maybe I need someone who's been where I am and she's...don't talk about this to anyone else ever, but she has. No way she'd know the shit she knows if she hadn't." Juno turned to face him, grinning back. "You do sound smart. Wise, even."
His happy sigh made her smile, and Juno moved the bottle again to watch its contents take their time from one end to the other. "What did you say I'm supposed to do with these beads?"
