"I don't feel bad I didn't get to finish," Owen told her. "The food was all just an excuse to do this anyway." But he would definitely cut up the remainder of their steaks to take back to the house for Neptune. It would be criminal to dump an expensive cut of meat into the garbage. Even if he hadn't paid any money, that wasn't the point. Owen glanced at Neptune, a small smile tugging at his lips. Most dogs would have taken advantage of their master's distraction to jump up and snag some grub. She had him well trained.
"It kind of sucks that we have to go back eventually," Owen murmured. "Wish they had a decent place down here to stay in for the night." It hadn't escaped anyone's notice that the majority of the commercial buildings were in decent shape, but the residential houses were complete garbage. "Is that shitty of me?
