"I do this because I like helping people, yeah," Erran agreed. "After I got sober it was kind of an interesting novelty, you know, the idea that I could contribute something instead of just taking all the time. I liked being needed, it was a way to respect myself more. And what I'm getting at here with you, in a similar vein, is that you've said a few times now that you don't want to let people down, you want people to feel like they can depend on you. And on the one hand, this feeling inspires you to do a lot for us, which is great and thank God we have you, but on the other hand maybe it makes it harder to take time out just for yourself. Because you've always gotta be the rock. Does that sound right or am I on the wrong track?"
He listened while Oliver suggested something that Jason would have wanted, and it made him smile. "That sounds like a perfect way to start, yeah—Jason cared about you, after all, so why shouldn't taking care of yourself be a tribute to him? You should definitely take some more time to hang out and chat with people when it's not all business, I like that idea." He paused, then asked, "Do you ever talk to Jason, like imagining conversations and stuff? I just ask because it's super common but a lot of people feel weird or worried about it."
