"You didn't have computers that first day either, right?" Oliver was pretty sure that was the case, and he shook his head. The town must have been so barren back then, everything so confusing. No one in charge, no one to offer support, no one to depend on. He remembered hearing jokes about Chase hopping out the window, and thinking on it, he couldn't really blame the kid. That first group was brave as hell, and still was.
"Kinda makes me wonder how different things would be if we'd all ended up here on day one. Don't know how I woulda taken it right out the gate like that." It also made him wonder if planting Owen and Cecilia on the first floor together was on purpose, for something other than the two emergency service people being easily accessible. Certainly not something he was going to bring up now. "Sometimes it feels like there's....sort of a separation between the first wave and the others," he stated thoughtfully, though he was quick to continue. "Nothin' bad, or too noticeable, just...little things. Kind of reminds me of the service a bit, how you could sometimes just tell who in the unit rolled in at the same time. Not really sure how to explain what it is, it just is. Gotta be worse the newer you are."
