Cecilia huffed and shrugged. "Okay, fine. Don't tell me. If I catch you guys in public I'm spraying you both down. With the coldest water I can find."
She tried not to keep gushing about Owen, or talking about him at all, really. She felt like Oliver was trying to prod her along and she didn't like it, but it was hard to keep silent on such a subject. A subject she happened to have rather strong, passionate beliefs about, as it was. "I am, too," she said quietly, chewing at her bottom lip as she got another knot out. "He tried to avoid in the beginning, I think. That didn't work so well. I think he might have used me as an excuse sometimes, going to things he didn't want to for my sake." She thought about all the guard dog jokes and felt a pang of something in her chest, and grit her teeth through it. Stop, stop, stop.
