"Still, sorry." Juno shrugged, and then gave another sad smile at what Lennon said next, unsure how long that would last or if he ever withdrew those words. "Better enjoy that while it lasts," she murmured.
Juno voiced no resistance when Lennon picked up the blanket and talked about snuggling together. He was a cuddler, she had come to realize, and she had also come to realize that having someone near you sharing their warmth with you - not just the physical warmth, either - was one of the best things in the world. Nodding, Juno came to stand closer to Lennon.
"You and me both." It was better than the alternatives; she didn't know if it was nature or nurture that had made her mind jump right to mind-altering substances as something she wished she was on so she could forget or at least numb herself down to what she was feeling. Once in a while those thoughts came to mind and Juno felt ashamed, weak, just like them. Yes, snuggling was better than the alternative. She let Lennon sit down first so he could get comfortable before she joined him, legs folded underneath her. Timidly, and hesitantly at first, Juno ended up leaning her head against his shoulder. After a moment of silence there she was going again, right back to how Marco had reacted to her. "You know I'd never do anything to hurt or harm you, right?"
