Lennon knew he should get out of his room for a while, but somehow he hadn't done it. He'd had some snacks in his desk that had sufficed for an early lunch, so he'd eaten that instead of going down to the kitchen. He'd showered and put on a clean t-shirt and pajama pants, but he hadn't been doing much at all today. He should check in with Kiley and Juno, since he'd seen they'd been selected for punishments, and he still needed to give Chase the map he'd made for him. But it wasn't happening yet.
Lennon had actually been dozing, stretched across the end of his bed, when Juno knocked, and he got up and padded to the door on bare feet. He was briefly taken aback by the fact that she was wearing a damp hoodie, like she'd been outside in the rain, and her about-to-cry voice and expression. Was her state of upset related to her punishment? he wondered. But she'd said she didn't want to talk about it, and Lennon would never be able to resist a plea for help like that from someone he cared for.
"C'mon in," he said, gently taking hold of her upper arm and tugging her clear of the door so he could shut it. "Do you have somethin' on under this? If not I can lend you a shirt and we can curl up under my blanket." He knew anyone else might take that wrong, but he really meant curl up and get warm, not anything else.
