"Sometimes. Probably more than normal. I have more here that I'd miss than back home." Chase shrugged, still not quite over what Kiley had said about her father, but talking was better than stewing. He sat down on the edge of her bed, setting his boots on the floor and moving to put his socks on.
"I think I'd like being there after all this than before this, if that makes sense. I had freedom and didn't do anything before, but I might be a little better now than I was. Maybe." He exhaled, shaking his head. "I...kind of miss what I missed out on, if that makes sense. Like, I think about how I kind of wanted to go science museum, or a really cool sounding restaurant across town, but I never did." He paused for a second before he added quickly. "And my cat. I miss my cat."
