Kate was surprised when Marco went off on her, but she didn't yell back. She just stopped scrubbing, dropping the rag into the bucket and stepping back a bit so she was out of his space. "I'm sorry," she said calmly, watching carefully until Juno had the knife safely out of the way. "It's just water, vinegar, and baking soda. I thought you might want the paint washed off. I can help with it later, if you want." Though it wouldn't make a big difference as the paint was already dry, she hoped he'd go somewhere with Erran and she could get it done. She imagined having to see that whenever he went into his room wouldn't really help with calming down.
