Kate headed down to the utility room, where she grabbed a bucket and filled it with a mixture of ammonia, apple cider vinegar, and baking soda diluted with warm water. She also grabbed some gloves, a bunch of rags, a towel, and one or two textured sponges before lugging the entire thing back up to the third floor, blessing all the muscle she'd built hauling fabrics up to third and fourth floor walkups for the relative ease with which she accomplished the task.
Seeing that Juno had cleared the door of its 8-legged decoration, Kate set the bucket down against the wall, laying the towel out on the floor to catch any drips. She pulled on the gloves, soaking a rag in the cleaner and getting to work on the door. "Do we have any idea who would have done this?" she asked the group in general, soaking the painted letters before scrubbing at them. "Did anyone hear anything last night? I think I slept right through it, but that knife in the door would've made at least some noise." The doors were thick, though, so she didn't think it would have carried very far. Maybe Marco had heard it.
