Erran had figured that Marco wouldn't reply to the private message right away (hell, he might not even be awake yet) and was therefore heading downstairs for something to eat. If there was no response that morning he'd take the proactive approach and go look for Marco, but he was hoping that this octupus murder thing wouldn't be an emergency. Right, just a nice relaxed octopus murder. When he heard Pam's scream from the floor above, though, he immediately turned around and headed upstairs.
Erran was sort of relieved to find Juno already there, since Marco clearly needed allies right now, but seeing the red paint and the mutilated little body of the octopus made his stomach plummet. Marco was his patient but in terms of triage, Pam was the one who was looking her dead pet right in the face, so first things first. "Jesus Christ—okay yeah, Pam, sit down, we'll get Hathaway down and wrap him up for you. I'm so sorry, this is a horrible thing to have to see."
