"Don't you mom me," Pam said playfully, releasing Jack with one hand so she could give his shoulder a light shove. A very light shove, out of fear that she might hurt his already hurting body. She was surprised when Jack started yelling, and again she jumped, then tried to pull him backwards a bit, not to get him into the house, but to keep him from ending up on the floor again. "Oh, Jack!" she squeaked, before getting between him and the others who remained.
But she looked down at Cecilia and Owen, and shrugged. "He's not wrong though!" she said in a little voice. "I mean, I've said it before! You know, with..." She put a finger to her nostril, doing a little snort then sticking her tongue out and rolling her eyes back, hoping that they understood despite her not quite knowing that that wasn't really how most people did heroin. "I know he's new, and he's scared, but that was also really scary."
