Well, that did it. Daphne sat back on her heels, giving Jack ample room to freak out, and realized she should have known he was going to take this badly. She couldn't actually fault him for it. If it had been her hair, God only knew what she would have done. So if Jack was going to have an egotistical freak out over his perfect hair, Daphne was the best case scenario for a witness to it. She wouldn't hold it against him.
When Jack's attention turned back to her, she lowered her eyes and waved her hand. Truth was, she kind of liked it when Jack freaked out. It helped her think less about how powerless she'd been in the whole thing. She hated that feeling. "Tapped my head, felt around my neck for the implant? That's about it. He seemed confused that I was awake, but I couldn't see his face, and anyway that could have just been an act. He dropped a cloth over my face and I passed out."
