"Ah." Jack wasn't entirely sure what kind of family would keep something like that going, but whatever, who was he to judge.
Her next question actually caused him to laugh sheepishly despite himself, and almost regretfully he nodded. "Getting shit-faced and waking up somewhere really fucking weird? Yeah, kinda a pattern." That didn't sound great, he was aware, but he cleared his throat and attempted to try again. "I mean, this shit's weird, don't get me wrong. But we weren't strapped down. The doors weren't locked. Nobody's coming to drag us off anywhere." He did pause at that, glancing down the hallway to see if anyone was actually coming, then back to her, shaking his head. "So, concerned? Not really. Not gonna waste energy on it until we figure out what the heck is going on. It could be nothing. Confused? Yeah. Really, fucking so."
He glanced toward the stairwell, then back at her. "You think you're good with trying the stairs? Or...you wanna try some of these doors? See if anybody else is plugged in? I'll stick around if it'll make you feel better." Honestly, considering she appeared to be the only person around at the moment that idea made him feel a little better too.
