Who ? O and OPEN Where ? In Town When ? Friday early evening What ? running errands
Tomorrow was the fourth of July and even though O wasn't an American, he still enjoyed fireworks and any holiday that went along with them. It had been a last minute decision of his to go into town that evening and see if he couldn't find any fireworks left for sale in North Conway. To his surprise, it seemed that the day before the fourth of July was the biggest day to sell Fireworks of the season. There were all sorts of tents on the side of the road, mostly by gas stations (which seemed dangerous to him) filled with fountains and artillery shells, rockets, and harmless day time fireworks.
The larger ones he wasn't so sure about but he had a small hand basket and was filling it with ones that sounded exciting or looked cute. There were little fireworks built into cardboard tanks and goldfish, frogs that hopped when the fireworks went off and lady bugs that shot off whirling into the sky. Sparklers were definitely a must along with something called the Friendship Pagoda and some larger fountains that promised showers of colored sparks and balls of color that looked like Jellybeans on the packaging.
He was all set, he decided, when he had about a hundred dollars worth of product in his basket and he started for the cash register, reaching into his back pocket for his wallet and ID.
