Orange, Hannon had read in one of the innumerable self help books he bought, was an approachable color. It made the wearer seem friendly and easy to talk to, opening and welcoming. He wasn't sure what red meant but that was the color of his tie when he remembered about orange. He worried so much about what kind of first impression he'd make to the staff at Zener that he actually turned around and went back to his duplex to change out of his red tie and into an orange one. It didn't matter, he told himself, he didn't have an appointment so he couldn't possibly be late. In fact, Zener didn't know he was coming at all but when he'd woken up that morning he'd made the decision to go down to Gavriel's school and hand in an application for employment. He wasn't sure if Zener needed a nurse or how they would go about advertising if they did but he knew working there would be as close to a dream job as he could think of. Nursing and psychics!
He pulled up to the school, his eyes a little wide and his heart beating wildly in his ribs. He sat in his car in the parking lot for a good ten minutes, long enough to suck on a mint and practice a few greetings in the rear view mirror before he started towards the school. Clasped tightly in his hands was a folder with his resume and a list of references as he stepped inside, looking around the interior of the lobby with nervous wonder.
