Thread: Gunner & Dr. Bishop Who: Dr. Bishop and Gunner Crawley. When: February 16. Evening. Where: Base; Medlab (plus top secret Medlab downstairs). What: Gunner finds that one of the experiments is dead. Sad.
Gunner had been on his very best behaviour. He worked diligently, long hours without complaint (not that he had ever really complained before) doing everything he was told. He brought down meals for Dr Bishop, but he made sure not to try anything 'cute'. And he was more focused these days, because he no longer spent time trying to figure out how to get Dr. Bishop to notice him.
It was evening, and Gunner headed down to the top secret lab, via the 'special' elevator that only a couple people had access to. Including him! He rode down, scanned himself into the lab and went about setting up the drugs he would need, and grabbing the files for the four captives. He glanced at the monitor to make sure none of the experiments were out of control. One was lazing on his bed, one was pacing, one was sitting and one was sleeping on the floor.
He headed down the stairs. Setting everything down, he took one syringe at a time to each of the experiments. Number One was fine. Number Two was as well, if a little bit testy, informing Gunner that he was exactly six minutes late.
Letting himself into the room for experiment Number Three, he found him sprawled out on the floor, just as he had seen on the monitor. Gunner had been especially wary around him ever since the wild man had attacked him. "Time for your injection," he said, carefully stepping into the room, locking it behind him. The experiment didn't move.
Gunner walked closer and nudged him with his foot. "Get up, please." Nothing. Dropping into a crouch, Gunner gave a shake and realized that the man's skin was cool. Swallowing, Gunner slid a hand up and checked his pulse. There wasn't one.
"Dr. Bishop!" Gunner said into the walkie talkie as soon as he yanked it out of his pocket and pressed the button. "I think Number Three is dead!"
