Who ? Eddie and Gavriel Where ? Coffee shop in town When ? Thursday afternoon What ? Eddie waits for Gavriel to show up.
At first, Eddie had really liked the smell of coffee especially in the shop since it was also mingled with the scent of caramel and chocolate and hazelnut and all of the little add ins and extra flavors that were especially popular in places like this these days. That had been on his first day of waiting. Today, on the second, all the sweet aromas were starting to make him feel sick to his stomach. The anticipation and anxiety certainly didn't help either but he knew he could leave so he bought a hot chocolate, the seventh he'd drank since yesterday, his second for the afternoon, and nervously continued to wait.
He hadn't expected a written answer to his letter since Gavriel had no way to return any sort of note to him, but every hour that ticked by without the appearance of his old room mate left him worried and one step closer to a trembling lower lip. He tried to encourage himself with the realization that Gavriel hadn't turned his letters in to the teachers at Zener or any sort of authority figure because he definitely would have noticed them yesterday! Yesterday he'd worn a disguise, a wig and everything, but today he donned more normal attire, a pink shirt beneath a white hooded sweatshirt (it also had cat ears on it) and a pair of dark jeans. It had taken a lot of work but he'd straightened his hair but that was the only effort he'd put into disguising himself.
The story about the kidnapping was so long ago, he didn't think he had to worry about being recognized. Now, instead, he was sure he passed as a nervous young woman, obviously waiting for someone since he'd been there for over four hours. Maybe he/she was waiting for a Valentine! The romantic notion assuaged his nerves a little bit, as did the knowledge that Dameon was in the same coffee shop waiting with him and watching over him just a few tables away.
With a little sad whine, Eddie looked from the clock to the melting whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles in his mug. Gavriel, where were you?!
