Who: Arthur Lloyd and Clair Montgomery-Andrews With Justin and Charlie at the end. When: Right after their conversation on Aim Where: Kitchen. The communal one. What: Arthur gives Clair a High School Musical experience. The song playing is this one Italics denote singing.
Purple dinosaur groupie? She'll show him purple dinosaur groupie! After logging off, Clair had thrown her robe on over her pajamas and had stomped down to the kitchen. Only she looked rather silly stomping away like that. Not only was her robe bright pink, so were her PJs. And the bedroom slippers she was wearing? Hello Kitty. And everyone knew that the only thing that was sacry about Hello Kitty was that it had no mouth.
But since she was Clair, she made a rather dramatic entrance into the communal kitchen anyway. Banging through the doors she was about to ask what Arthur's problem was when she stopped short. Because there was Arthur, standing right in front of her. He had his hands behind his back and Clair was sure that he was hiding a squirt gun or something.
Before she could dodge or open her mouth to call him out, Arthur reached over clicked on something on his laptop. Clair hadn't noticed that it was sitting there on the counter next to him until he had made the gesture. Immediately the first few bars of some song floated into the air. Said song was vaugely familiar but Clair couldn't put her finger on it.
That is until... "It's all about you. It's all about you baby." Her mouth dropped open. Arthur was actually singing. And he was doing some silly two step shuffle dance thing as he came at her. What the...heck? Clair quickly slipped off to the right but he quickly followed, grabbing her hands and pulling her towards him just as the song properly started.
"Yesterday you asked me something I thought you knew..."
"I didn't ask you anything yesterday Arthur!" Clair exclamined, no longer angry. She was just amused. To say that this was unexpected would have been an understatement. He was trying to pull her into some silly version of a waltz and Clair let him. She had had dance lessons back in her old private school and that stopped her from stepping on his feet.
"Then you whispered in my ear and you told me too.."
"Told you to buzz off?" Clair asked with a giggle. But it seemed that Arthur would not stop singing even to banter. He twirled her around and only smiled. And Clair realized why he had asked her if she liked High School Musical. Only in HSM...noone had been dancing and singing in their pajamas.
"And I would answer all your wishes if you ask me to. But if you deny me one of your kisses don't know."
He kissed her cheek then, twirling her around again as she laughed and told him that he was such a dork. She said something about him not being Zac Efron either as he reached the part about dancing on the kitchen tiles. That part also made her wonder how long he had been planning this. But Clair didn't wonder for very long. An insturmental solo came up and they lost themselves in the dancing. She never had so much fun with the waltz and simply giggled as he twirled her. It was suprising that they didn't bang into the counter or anything like that. She even decided to join him when the singing started again.
"And I would answer all your wishes if you asked me to. But if you deny me one of your kisses don't know what I'd do. So hold me close and say three words like you used to do. Dancing on the kitchen tiles. Yes. You make my life worth while. So I told you with a smile, "It's all about you"
They collapsed against each other as the song ended. Laughing softly and just enjoying each other's company. "That was so silly." Clair finally said, out of breath from the dancing and lauging. Arthur didn't answer her right away though and they simply ended up smiling at each other. Their faces close.
And then he was leaning in a little bit. At first Clair thought that Arthur was going to say something as his lips parted. But she would never know. The door opened again and Arthur was interrupted. They both turned, seeing Justin and Charlie framed in the doorway. The two boys seemed loaded with plastic bags?
Arthur took a step back from Clair then and laughed. "I get it now!" He said, spotting a bag of flour peeking from one of the bags. "We can help you guys if you like!"
Clair only sighed and nodded. She was still very amused and this was Justin and Charlie. Looks like she wasn't going to get any sleep tonight.
