"Well, I wasn't so drunk I didn't notice, so yeah, I've seen him, but we didn't exactly stand around exchanging notices of sexuality." Jack's brow furrowed. "Hell, is he gay enough to be offended that I don't mind girls? Not as friends," he rolled his eyes, "you know what I mean." He'd met guys who were... who couldn't deal with the idea of bisexuality and seemed to think Jackson had girl-cooties simply because he swung both ways.
As Luca's excitement grew, Jack's nerves rattled more. "Right. Date. So. Dinner? I should get us dinner. I mean, make it more of a date. Or we could get a car to get there instead of taking the train and bus or whatever it was; I need to figure that all out." It didn't occur to him that Gatsby might be figuring any of this out as well. After all, Jack had brought up the show, even if Gatsby had done the original (sort of) asking about going together.
At which point the biggest wrench in the whole plan struck him. "Uh-oh. I don't have tickets yet. I'd better get in touch with him so we can get tickets. That are actually together."
