I wanna be your end game
He was tired of trying to get by without Erin in his life. Her leaving Chicago and moving to New York had been really hard for him to deal with and it had taken him a long time to really feel like himself again, but try as hard as he could, he was never able to get over her. He couldn't seem to move on from her and to be honest he didn't ever want to. It took him a long time to finally work up the nerve to do something about it and when he did he immediately booked a flight to New York after getting Erin's address from Voight. Once his plane landed he got a rental car and headed to her apartment, hoping that she would let him get out everything he wanted to say to her before she started asking him questions.
When he got to her apartment he parked and headed inside, finding her door and took a deep breath to draw some courage, knowing that there was no going back the moment he knocked on that door. He hadn't let her know he was coming, wanting to surprise her but he wondered now if that had been a bad idea. Maybe he should have told her. Oh well. It was too late now. He was here and he was about to face her for the first time since she had left. He raised his hand and knocked on her apartment door, shifting from foot to foot nervously as he waited for her to open the door.
When she opened the door finally he didn't wait for her to speak, instead he just blurted out the first thing that came to his mind when he saw her face, "I wanna be your endgame."
