OMG, this is so awesome! (Just imagine me grinning like an idiot and squeeing hysterically for several minutes.)

First off, I cracked up at the title--I remember you saying that it's become sort of a catch phrase in the series, so I was thrilled that you used it for the title and I couldn't wait to see what kind of fic you'd written for it!

for all I know, Yoshizumi might decide he'd prefer a no-strings threeway with Kikuchi and Onozuka

Haha, you know, that is actually kind of tempting! I found myself imagining the scene in Unmasked where Kikuchi suggests that Miyasaka join them in bed, only with Yoshizumi in M's place, and imagining the expression on Kikuchi's face when Yoshizumi says "Sure" instead of scurrying off with his tail between his legs! ~_^ *tries to fend off the plot bunny*

As I was reading this, I kept thinking, "Oh, that's a great line; I'll have to quote that in my reply," and then immediately finding another great line in the next paragraph or two down, to the point where I'd be quoting half the fic. I am just in awe of how wonderful this fic is and how much I love it and the incredible things you've done playing off canon and fanon!

Big grin at the film school reference! ^__^ Also, both horror and amusement at the plot of Mochimune's movie--it is so completely twisted, which suits him perfectly! It makes me think that he entertains secret fantasies of shooting/torturing/maiming directors of crappy movies.

And I love this future Yoshizumi and Kenzaki, now secure in their relationship, but still with little hints of remembered pain from the past. That "flicker of old anguish" was very moving, because it shows how much they value what they have now. And although I thought the fic would have Kenzaki accepting the role, I really love that he turned it down--it shows how much he values the job he has now, and how thoroughly he's thought things through. And that he feels secure enough not to feel the need to take the job to keep an eye on Yoshizumi--except for that brief moment when Yoshizumi expresses misgivings about Miyasaka.

And yes--giving Shou the Rusty Nail! And talking about a new club called "The Shisa"! *Flails happily* It may be partly because you singled him out, but I've found myself growing fond of Shou, when I originally didn't put much thought into his character when he first appeared. I think when you compared him to Shiki from Love Control, something clicked and I went, "Aha, now I understand what his role is at Rusty Nail!" And Yoshizumi calling Kenzaki a softie--awww!

Okay, this is getting kind of long and I have to step away from the computer for a bit. I'll come back later and squee over the rest of it, but for now, thank you so much for this incredible story!
