A year ago, I took a chance and started a Glee roleplay. The show had barely started. I didn't know if if it would catch on. I didn't know if it would work. I didn't know if anyone would have any interest. I didn't know if it would last longer than a couple of weeks if anyone did have any interest.
I got a couple of takers the first time I advertised, and I was so excited. But I told myself not to get too excited, not to get too attached. Roleplays have notoriously short lifespans, after all. And a couple of players, while great, do not a community make.
But it just kept growing. And it kept surviving.
Yes, we lost a few people, but that was to be expected. We still had people applying and people kept playing. And it was great.
And it still is great.
So, one year later, I want to thank the players of new_directions for making my tentative little idea take shape and thrive. You guys are truly, and honestly amazing. We wouldn't be here without you.
