Diana & Bea
Who: Diana Prince & Bea da Costa
When: Wednesday, August 19th, 2009; Afternoon [backdated]
Where: New York City, NY.
What: Diana has arrived in New York in order to make an appearance in the League's HQ as Wonder Woman, but decides to wait until tomorrow to actually go. Instead, she goes shopping for no reason other than to observe the public.
Notes: I've been trying to post this all week.
No matter how long she had been off of the island, Diana still marveled at the creature called "man." All she had known for so long was her sisters on the island and to see these things, these men, was something she could definitely get used to. Oh, she knew what men were, in theory, and had even met one or two before she left the island, but those were gods and demigods - Hercules, Zeus, and Ares - and one could not simply call them "men." No, the men she marveled at were those who had never known mystical powers and lived their lives oblivious to what was going on around them. They were so adorable. Diana had finished her shopping about an hour ago, but she could not stop sitting and watching the handsome young men as they passed by the window. She had settled down to have lunch and rest up before heading to her room at the JLA HQ. She was to make an appearance as Wonder Woman this weekend in order to touch base and take her turn at the communications center. She only thought it fair that everyone spend some time there rather than making a chosen few man the whole thing. Diana actually took great pride in working at HQ and helping to make her little slice of the world somewhat safer. Another brilliant specimen made his way past the large glass window in front of her and Diana watched him walk, cell phone in hand and chatting of this or that with someone. If only she was more sure about how to talk to these illusive little things. She didn't actually know where to go to meet men, though she had opinions from colleagues, but bars? That sounded entirely too sleazy to her. Besides that, she needed to meet a man who wouldn't be intimidated by her intelligence and strength, though she tried her best to play the strength part down as best she could. Honestly, why did she think she needed a man? This was the first time ever she had ever considered having a man a "need." Were the television shows she watched at night beginning to get to her? Were they beginning to erode her sense of self as she'd seen done to so many others? Possibly. How she dreaded that thought. TV was a mind-killer. |
