Who: Jade and Kid Devil and Scarecrow When: Lunchtime Where: An unspecified city in CA What: The roof! The roof! The roof is on fire! Rating: PG
It had been a long, fairly boring day for Eddie so far. He'd been sent out with a couple of other guys to take some stock video footage for use in a film. Eddie tried his best to make it a fun venture, but the other guys were veterans of the industry, humorless older men who wanted nothing more than to get the job done and go home. He was only too glad when their lunch hour came around and he could part ways with them for a while.
He found an outdoor cafe he could chill at, eat his lunch while the warm breeze blew on him. He was just about done with it when he heard the blaring of sirens. Turning in his chair, he saw two fire trucks barreling down the street, an ambulance right behind them. They passed, but the sound of the sirens didn't die away. Wherever the emergency was, it was close. Still looking for any opportunity he could get to be a hero, he dashed off, leaving the crust of his panini and a half-full bottle of soda behind.
He found the van they'd come in quickly, getting it unlocked and shutting himself inside. He had his costume with him, of course he did, just in case. A moment later, Kid Devil emerged.
He arrived by foot to where there were now four fire trucks and two ambulances blocking off a good part of the road while they were trying to put out a fire in a rather large warehouse. There was already a decent sized crowd of on-lookers present, gawking at the scene. He could hear cries that there were still people trapped in the building. "Looks like a job for... Kid Devil", he mused to himself, taking a second to figure out how exactly to approach.
