[info]zephyring
Hello all! I will be chiming in with two characters. The first is Sofia Mantega who has Ororo Munroe's powers. She's brand new to the school and is arriving after destroying her father's store in a fit of teenage angst. Her dad's kind of a jerk. Her normally white hair is dyed brown and she's gotten used to wearing brown contacts to hide her blue eyes. Her father was a stickler for fitting in. She'll be a junior in the Fall and is super excited about coming to a mutant school.

I also have Lila Cheney with Vanessa Carlysle's powers. She's blue, grew up in England with a group of Morlocks, found out she could not be blue, started a band, abandoned her Morlock family, got arrested after they exacted revenge on her and is showing up this summer to be the music teacher in September.

I'd love love love plots and have a lot of character/new power combinations to memorize!

Hello friends and gentlefolk, I am the amazing Lee! And this is Clint Barton, known in most other universes as Hawkeye.

His early history is the same: parents die, he and his brother run away from foster care to join the circus, Clint gets picked to assist the Swordsman and learn all sorts of bladed weapon fun. But instead of getting to learn archery, he discovered he could control fire! (More on that here.) He's just now arriving at the school, complete with a partially-healed broken leg from his father figure attempting to murder him, soooo he might have a difficult time settling in. Also! He has all of a fifth grade education, so I imagine he's getting hella summer tutoring.

[info]steelgirl
Hello! Jessi here, with #4!

This is Illyana Rasputin, with her brother's powerset. She can change her skin to steel. It also makes her taller, heavier, and much MUCH stronger.

Personality wise, she's boycrazy. Kind of shy but asks a lot of questions. Scared of magic and telepathy. Wants a puppy. SHE'S PRECIOUS, OK? Treat her kind.

And this is totally a call for Piotr or Mikhail. BRING ME YOUR RUSSIANS.

Doofus Incoming

[info]_wingman
Hello! I'm that new player mentioned below, Carla, but more importantly: this is Guido Carosella.

Yeah. Strong Guy. And while he's still pretty strong, he also gets some big giant feathery wings on his back! That's right, he's got Angel's powerset (Worthington flavor), so he's kind of looks like a big broski got knocked into one of those fancy 'Dream Angel' bra displays at Victoria's Secret. It doesn't make much sense, but don't worry: he knows that too.

He'll be teaching drama to the fine students at Xavier's as well as walking around without a shirt on (SUN'S OUT GUNS OUT). Learn more about him here (IF YOU DARE) and I did notice that he's got this big gap of time between graduating NYU and making it to teaching drama here at the school, so if anyone anted to know Guido here through his wild roaring 20s, I will personally entertain anyone interested? I do a mean soft shoe.

Also? If anyone feels like photoshopping a bunch of wings on to Channing Tatum, I will pay you in Magic Mike gifs I have stolen from Tumblr.

WELL. IT'S ME AGAIN. Heather here with Megan Gwynn. But wait, you might say, she doesn't look like the cute little teen we're used to... Well, no. Firstly, she's 25. Secondly, holy shit is she hot. FOREWARNING: If you go looking at her icons, do be careful. Many of them feature bikinis. Some are "tastefully nude" in that you can't see a nipple or anything but she's definitely naked.

Now that that's out of the way.

So this is Megan. She grew up in Wales and had a lovely life until her mutant powers kicked in. What are those? Well. Like Shaw, she can tap into your brain and dredge up all the details of your deepest, darkest fears (and all the little loser fears too). But where Shaw projects an illusion, Megan shapeshifts and actually BECOMES your fears. So, I mean. That's a thing.

This has led to a lot of bad shit in her life. Lots. Being repeatedly institutionalized, killin' folks. She's gone a little crazy but she hides it as best she can. She's also a professional gold digger so there's that too. If she had a theme song, it would be Hell on Heels by the Pistol Annies.

So I love you guys so much I already made a second character. How's that for tricks?

This is Heather Cameron, canonly Lifeguard. But wait, you might say, isn't she half alien baby? Eeeeeeh, fuck that. Shi'ars can suck a... anyway. I've given her a more "recent" character's powers in the form of Alisa Tager/Cipher. You know, remember when there was all that hype that precious Doug was coming back and it turned out to be this chick instead? Poor Doug...

That means Heather has full-spectrum invisibility, inaudibility, phasing, and (when invisible) telepathic immunity to a degree. We're still working on that degree. She's been with Xavier's for six months but had been keeping her existence a total secret. As it is, here's a list of people who know she's around: Raven, Charles, Remy, Jean and Irene (either through her own powers or Raven telling her. Working on that). So she's going to start revealing herself bit by bit but until then...

She's had six months of spying on fucking everyone as security under Raven. I'm gonna set up a drop box on her journal, all private comments, if you wanna leave me some stuff she's seen dirt wise. She's not the blackmail type but I mean, it'd be funny amirite?

Fun stuff below! )

[info]morphingtime
Hey guys and girls. My name is Heather and I'm writing this from McDee's on my lunch break at the Wally world.

This is Kurt. Much of his history in the early years is the same though with alterations made for his powers. Not by much though. My intense knowledge of Morph lets me know that as a baby, Kurt appeared to be kind of a gooey white blob with arms. Because of some shit that happened to him in the circus, he sometimes wakes up as a girl and can't change from female morphs (unless they're inanimate objects).

He's 17 and a sophomore which is quite the trick for someone who has never stepped foot in a school before. Obviously he's got the Raven thing going on for him which means hey Irene and Anna Marie.... whut upm

So ploy with me bbs. I'm here, he's half queer and we're here to party.

[info]temporalstasis
hello! like the mod post said i'm nicole and bringing in karolina dean. i've changed her up a bit for the mutant power swap aspect of the game. namely, she's not an alien and just a regular mutant. her parents are also mutants and still part of the pride which is more of a pro-mutant, anti-human group. a bit of a mix between the brotherhood and the hellfire club.

karolina doesn't know how much her parents hate humans though and she's pretty carefree. she was a graduate last year in 2014 and has been attending college while living at the institute. i figured it's the best of both worlds. she'll know a lot of the students and a lot of the residents. can't wait to jump in!

editing this i'm also bringing in theresa cassidy. mostly she goes by terry though. she's an empathic metamorph and teaches creative writing now. she did go to the institute for high school and spent most of it looking like the epitome of what most teenagers feel like during that crappy period of life;) just more like a crazy, red-eyed, hulking beast of a thing. she can be pretty outspoken and occasionally has an empathic breakdown but is involved in a lot of training and yoga to try to avoid that. tom and/or sean would be amazing!

CAAAALIFORNIA LOOOOOVE!

[info]calidream
Hi! I'm David! I'm new here, and I'm bringing in a certain firecracker in yellow who's still a firecracker even though she has different powers and doesn't always wear yellow.

That's right, I'm bringing in Jubilation Lee! She goes by the Jubilee nickname, even though she has Mirage's power to create illusions out of people's dreams and/or nightmares. She's an upbeat person, so illuminating the more positive stuff in people's mindscapes comes more easily to her than the bad stuff.

Most of her backstory is the same as canon Jubes', although instead of entertaining people with fireworks at the Hollywood Mall, she entertained them with creating illusions of their favorite things. But since she was still a shoplifter and a mutant in a spot where neither of those things was okay, she was grateful to be bailed out by Daddy Warbucks Professor Xavier.

She's 16 now, and she's been at the school since she was 13, so she's been around a while. She's rooming with Kitty Pryde, and she's on the Gen X squad with Kitty and Bobby Drake. Let's make connections, people! Who does she like? Who does she dislike? Who's she crushing on (male or female; she's not picky)? Who are her partners in mischief?

[info]chemosignal
ok hi everyone! i'm very bad at these intro things and it's been a while since i've actually joined a game so i'm feeling kinda awkward, but my name's fanny and i'm bringing in the (not so) lovely josh foley, with wallflowers powers~ (pheromone manipulation)

his bio is long because i tend to get carried away, but a little bit of backstory (which is pretty parallel to comic book canon) - when he was 15/16 his abilities manifested, although he didn't know what they were he just thought he became SUPER popular (which is basically a dream come true to him.) until of course pesky hormones kicked in and he got mad/made other people mad and started getting into fights at school and was eventually expelled for a little bit for unknowingly starting what was more-or-less a riot in the cafeteria. THEN when he was 16 he joined the reavers because their anger appealed to him, and then all sorts of hell kinda broke loose when xavier sent a team of mutants to try to bring him to the institute. he told them no, but the reavers found out too, beat him up etc, etc. when his parents found out the truth, they basically kicked him out, so he went to the institute kinda begrudgingly. eventually, his parents officially disowned him/signed guardianship over to the institute.

needless to say, josh was not very popular among the students because of his reaver connections, and he still can't control his powers very well/at all, so he kind of just angrily keeps to himself, stewing in his own bitterness. normal teen stuff, you know. that's not to say he doesn't TRY to be friendly sometimes, but he hasn't been met with open arms and it's been about a year so he's kind of gotten used to being on his own.

personality wise he's kind of a mix. like i said he keeps to himself, but all he really wants is for the whole world to like him. so he's kind of on this mission to prove himself. he still also isn't completely above using his ability for personal gain, but he's working on it :x

ANYWAY i got carried away again but i'm very excited to start! i'm open for pretty much anything in the way of lines and plot-stuff!!

[info]ghostbitch
So, this is Alison Blaire with Wicked's powers. She goes by the codename Voodoo.

She's a famous music star, all over TMZ, with a rep for being a total biyatch. Though she tells the press that it's all just people making up stories. They tried to make her go to rehab and she said no, no, no. And stuff.

She'll arrive at the school a couple of weeks into the game. At this very moment, no one knows she's a mutant but she's going to have an on stage incident (it's ghost time baby) that's going to out her and end up a scandal and basically washed up. She'll sekritly be sent to Xavier's where she'll have to spend most of her time incognito since no one knows that Xavier's is a mutant school.

But once she's there, all the plots:D

[info]telekineticals
Hopefully we'll have a handful of players to start up soon because I really want to start.

Anyway, I'm Melissa and have a quick (not-so-quick) rundown:

Irene Adler/Anima/[info]telekineticals: Marvel Girl's powers
Irene is the student counselor at the school. She'll also counsel your adults about whatever they might need. She's an information gatherer. With people getting all up in arms about mutants, her beliefs are changing and a certain Erik Lensherr and his beliefs might be getting to her. She'll definitely take an interest in any students/adults with questionable views on the superiority of mutants and anyone who tends to get into trouble a lot. But explains that away by saying that those are the ones that need the most help.

She will give your kids crap about breaking the rules but insists that she cares. But she'll also sit and talk with them for hours if that's what they need. She'll also make sure they have whatever they need. Because, dammit, mutants are being discriminated against and someone needs to be looking out for them extra specially.

Jean Grey/Savant/[info]computering: Sages's powers
Jean likes to think of herself as a big sister more than an actual professor. In some ways, she can seem to have somewhat of a dual personality: her core nature is maternal and friendly while her powers are very analytical and logical. So she's constantly struggling with that split. She can get into "moods" where she wants to do nothing but work for weeks on end. And then, a night later, she'll be in the kitchen baking cookies and delivering them on doorsteps (roomsteps?) in packages with little bows. She tries not to seem too nuts in that respect but often fails.

Regardless, if your character's at the school she's likely at least talked to him/her. Whether they like her/want to continue talking/etc. is totally up to you. But she's tried to reach out:D

Anna Marie/Mimic/[info]alterable: Mystique's powers
Anna's been at the school since she was an infant. She was born blue and dumped on the steps of a church shortly after birth. Xavier found her and took her in. She grew up being passed around among the faculty and older students who took care of her and raised her. So she doesn't really have a specific adult figure that she looks up to. In some ways, a lot of people were involved in her upbringing (and any back story between her and other characters is always welcome!) but in other ways she sort of feels like none of them actually raised her.

She considers herself to be a burden and hasn't yet figured out how she's supposed to feel about being a mutant. Once she developed the ability to change her appearance boy howdy did she use it! It's extremely rare to see her blue. And, since she didn't spend really any time outside the school until she was about 13 or so, she's not the most well-adjusted person. Sometimes she tries. Mostly she doesn't.

Wanda Maximoff/Dementia/[info]dareyoutotouch: Rogue's powers
Wanda is... a little unhinged. She treats her abilities like a game and refuses to be afraid of them even though she should probably show at least a little fear. Or respect. Or something. She actually uses them, makes a point of risking touches (welcome or not), and has way too many personalities stuck in her head. She doesn't realize that Erik is her father, which is probably a good thing because she'd be pissed that she didn't know for so long. She would love a Pietro and would likely be extremely dependent on him and clingy.

Kitty Pryde/Velocity/[info]alwaysfaster: Quicksilver's powers
Kitty's actually a lot like her canon counterpart. Just really fast. And she does have a little bit of an impatience issue like canon-Quicksilver. Mostly because everyone else is so. damn. slow. Overall, she's book smart, enjoys computers, books, and math, does gymnastics, etc. etc. She likes to welcome brand new arrivals because she knows she was freaked out when she first arrived to the school if only because it was a brand new, unknown place. She's been there since she was 12 (she's 15 now) so it's been a few years and she's settled in pretty well. Kitty has a good relationship with her family and doesn't have the tragic past that a lot of other people at the school have. So, in that respect, she's a bit naive to the game. Which might make her a little annoying.

Tabitha Smith/Phase/[info]walkingthruyou: Shadowcat's powers
Tabitha is... a pain in the ass. She's also a lot like her canon counterpart except now she can walk through walls which, while less destructive than time bombs, gives her a hell of a lot of opportunity to get into a lot of trouble. She's always testing limits, always playing pranks, a chatterbox, and really doesn't give a fig about authority. She does come from a troubled past, though it's not something she talks about. Telepaths/empaths/precogs might know something about it (and they're all welcome to know that her parents were divorced, she had a stepmother, her father was an alcoholic and abusive, etc. as you wish... no need to hold back your characters' powers there).

Mostly, she hides the pain of her childhood with her bombastic personality. She actually likes getting into trouble. And is probably always trying to plan an unwelcome party that includes underage drinking.

Laurie Collins/Ambrosia/[info]laurieheals: Elixir's powers
Laurie is a bit more outgoing than her canon self. Without the need to withdraw into herself due to her powers, she had a chance to be more friendly and wasn't so worried about "forcing" people to like her. However, she takes her healing powers very seriously. As a result, she ended up driving herself to exhaustion over and over and Jean stepped in, messed with her DNA, and screwed up, severely limiting Laurie's ability to heal people. I pretty much did this so there wasn't a character running around who could heal everything making it impossible for characters to have colds, broken limbs, etc. without it feeling like a huge plot hole. But also so that she's available to save people from huge injuries/illnesses as needed and/or wanted.

She spends a lot of time in the medical lab (doctor characters anyone???) and has started to focus on learning about medicine since she can't just touch and heal as easily now. Though that makes her extremely frustrated and more than a little cranky.

So... first?

I know right now it's just me and the boss-mod, but for any future people: HI. I'M REGINA. I COME BEARING GIFTS OF REMY. The tldr version of Remy is that he's a thief from Louisiana, who recently had his entire family die. He plays the southern charmer very well but don't be fooled, he rarely means what he says. He's a lieing liar who lies, but you'd need to be an empath or a telepath to catch him doing it. He showed up at the academy little more than a year ago, since a recently developed penchant for seeing the damn future messed with his head a bit. It's not known among the student body that he's a thief, although the faculty know.

Also up to bat is Bobby Drake! He's a one man zombie apocalypse and he pretty much hates himself. He's never actually hurt anyone, but about two years ago a small town in main had a serious problem with the undead after Bobby went to his grandfather's funeral and woke up a graveyard. He was shot, died, and woke up in a morgue afterwards, repeat with the zombies. He was brought to the institute shortly after and disowned. Bobby's generally nice enough but that's fairly dependent on how badly his mutation is straining his mind on any particular day. Bobby can be one of the nicest people in the world, or a right bastard, depending on how hungry he is.
