The hospital and grounds The hospital is located in Chapman, British Columbia, set amid orchards and within sight of the lake, with the rather arid hills that surround Chapman in the background.
The hospital proper is a sprawling old building that's been extensively modernized. It sports three separate wards for men, women, and children, and all the facilities necessary to care for 150 inpatients at a time. In a separate building nearer the lake are rehabilitation facilities. Staff is housed in assorted houses and dorms scattered over the property. All the buildings are painted a cheerful white, and several sport murals on the walls that originally date from its first opening (these were restored when the hospital was first reopened).
There are also some animal enclosures: A chicken coop that's home to a flock of spoiled little bantam chickens that like following people around, and a stable that houses a few therapy ponies and some goats.
