She blushed and glanced away, "Thank you. It took a lot of practice to get it right." There'd been times when it'd turned out too pale or too red or... well, it didn't matter. It was just a miracle her hair hadn't fallen out by now.
Dorcas arched an eyebrow, trying to resist the urge to laugh and failing since she giggled anyway, "It is cattle country but people still farm. You can flatten land or work around the rocks. And it's not like there was always trading with the English and such. If it were that bad, the country would be inhabitable, wouldn't it?"
