Doing Nothing |

Who: Adam and Ata Where: The grounds When: Saturday September 5th, afternoon What: Going for a walk Warnings: General Audience
Today was Saturday and Saturday was the Shabbat, which basically meant doing nothing all day. Sometimes the break was welcome. With his busy schedule, a day off was an absolute necessity. Sometimes, like today, he was bored out of his mind. He couldn't even paint, because painting was creating and creating of any sort was forbidden on the Shabbat. No research, no experiments, no work (unless it was an emergency, God would forgive treating a broken bone or the like on Saturday), no grading papers, and no cooking.
Which pretty much wiped out Adam's usual activities except for reading. And he didn't want to read all day. He'd already studied a few chapters in the Torah, visited the temple in LA he'd been attending for a year and taken a nap. Which left taking walks and socializing.
And well, sex if he was married or had a girlfriend. But since he didn't (and rarely had time to date), he was taking a walk. Hopefully, he could find somebody to socialize with.
Yeah, this was one of those Saturdays where self imposed day off was driving him insane with boredom. |
