Adam nodded as she explained further. That made sense. Birth defects were written into the body's genetic coding. She couldn't alter that. Interesting.
"Choices?" he asked, more intrigued by her description. He looked a little startled when she reached out and touched him, making all the ruddy hair on one of his arms stand on end. It was rather chilling on a deep level, having someone controlling his body so easily, but he could overlook that for the fact it was fascinating. "Can you inhibit aging I wonder?" he asked as the idea came to him. After all, if she could stop cancer from growing, she might be able to halt the effects of diseases that came on with advanced age.
"That's exactly what they do," he agreed. "When a virus infests an organism, it basically reprograms the infected cells to create new virus cell. Since you can't alter the coding, fortifying the body's natural immunity may be the extent you can do. Since stopping replication only halts the spread of the infection, not get rid of it. But that would definitely help in treating viruses, since while the virus can't spread, you can fortify the immune system of the patient and allow them to produce their own antibodies to fight it."
Her speculation about morphers made sense really. "Considering the extent with which Kevin can alter his body, yeah, I'm thinking you're probably right. Might have to take that slow."
Lizzie's mutation was definitely intriguing, that was for certain.
