"Oh," Adam said, knowing that would be obvious. Which was entirely why he didn't think of it. He immediately went to the file cabinet in the corner and started going through it. It contained the hardcopies of everything saved on the computers. Which meant he'd never opened it but to add to it. After a year, well, he had no idea what was in there.
As for routines. "I don't really have any," he admitted, still looking for the list of emergency numbers. What had he done with them. "It's pretty much as needed. People make appointments for routine things. The schedule's on my desk...I think." He was pretty sure it was on his desk anyway. "Student files can be accessed through the medical directory. Sarah should have already give you access to it."
Adam hesitated a moment. "On those files and anything we discuss, legally, it can't be discussed with anyone but the patient and each other. And really, not outside the medlab. Unless the person signs a release of information form and then only to those people. If you're working information about a student or faculty member and a different one comes in here, minimize the window at least. If you have to get up, lock your computer. The HIPPA laws are really strict. And mutants have to be careful especially. People don't need to know the extent of our abilities. It'll just fuel the paranoia about us."
He nodded at her explanation. "Sort of like that," he agreed. "Yes, my mutation doesn't alter my physiology at all. I have the same vulnerabilities as a baseline human. Many of the mutants here qualify for that category. Some have additional perceptions relating to their mutations." Nothing in that drawer. Damn.
Moving on to the next drawer, he continued. "Then there are people, who for lack of a better term, are more mutated. Their physiology has been changed, sometimes drastically. Emre is a good example of this. He can breathe fire and has scales. And Piotr would fall more into this group than the first or the third. His physiology doesn't really change that drastically, it is still basically human, just extremely durable and his strength increases phenomenonally."
He continued to rifle through the drawer, looking at a few things before shoving them back in. "As for your third group, those who's anatomy can be drastically different, yeah," he added. "Morphers of any bent are tricky to diagnose. Megamorphs like Kevin transform almost completely, taking on the abilities and vulnerabilities of whatever form he's in. When he's not transformed, he's exactly like any other baseline teenage boy. It's hard to get him to hold still enough to do a through examination. Or examine him properly in some forms. At least for me. I don't have the facilities to X-Ray a dragon."
Adam shook his head. "It's not babbling," he agreed. "And it would probably a be a good idea to be familiar with most of the inhabitants, at least by their charts."
