It wasn't really a plan to embarrass him, or anything bad, it was just teasing and it was just the two of them alone. There was no ill-intent, just.. that playfulness that seemed to come naturally in their banter. The fact that he had been so gentle in his poking back though did give her some pause, maybe she was teasing a bit too much and should back off some. They weren't close friends and she found she liked his company well enough that she didn't want to risk offending him. Yes, far better to back off a little and stop joking quite so much.
"Sometimes I wonder.. once you're on a team, if anything you do matters, or if it all ends up being for the good of the team, or just.. for something on the side. I've always enjoyed working with hardware, computers, but in part I'm taking the classes because they needed me to be good at hacking into things, needed me to be good at that sort of thing. Like you with International Studies." she answered thoughtfully. "It's my minor too. I'd say maybe we'd have classes together but you're not a freshman, you said you'd been here a long time, so I'm guessing you're a junior or a senior?" She shrugged slightly and started drawing pictures with a strawberry along the cooling top of the chocolate. Just swirls and hearts and stars, nothing really.. strange designs for no reason at all.
"Yeah, it is nice that they set up separate housing for families. It.. it looks like it might be a nice place to raise a family. The beaches and the woods.. and everything. Oh.. hey, are there nature trails in the woods? Morning runs aren't nearly as fun on a treadmill."
