"It's alright, I just...I've never had anyone do anything like that before. I wasn't prepared." Pete laughed a little, which released some of the tension and hopefully put them both a little more at ease. "And at least now I know that if you ever have to do that to me for some reason in the future I won't have to worry that anything bad will happen." He thought he felt a little tingly actually, but that was likely just his nerves going back to normal. He looked back at the door again as he walked, even though now it was closed, and suddenly started to really appreciate how cool the idea was. He'd just gone through his own front door.
"It's a little boring alone." He reasoned, imagining that trip itself would be much more fun with their quirky conversations keeping them company. There was little doubt in his mind that the stranger, sillier topics would be an ongoing feature in their interactions even after they got used to one another. "You don't have to, though. I can understand wanting to stay and get acquainted with the school better." It had taken a little while for him to get the hang of things, but that had been years ago, and he didn't have the advantage of being involved in a similar school prior to that. "You'll probably be meeting a lot of interesting people too. We have plenty.
