When she wiggled her toes, he couldn't help but laugh, looking a little embarrassed again. "They're cute. Very festive." He gestured with his head to the socks and watched as she hunted around through her belongings, not paying enough attention to the items involved to be invasive. It just wasn't polite. Still, watching her he realized that if he tried to flop around on his own bed in that manner he'd probably end up breaking it.
Pete stood when she went red, leaning forward a tiny bit just in case it looked as if she might drop, but backed off easily when it appeared she was doing alright on her own. He frowned slightly, hoping it really wasn't too soon for her to be up and around, but he trusted Adam's opinion. Instead, he folded his arms over his chest, as if it had been his intention to stand all along, and not to hover protectively over the potentially faint-able new person. He erased the concerned expression, trying to replace it with something more default as he spoke again.
"This is true." Pete replied, and even though the smile partially stayed, his voice reflected the fact that he partially lamented it. "I forgot that you were part of the New York school. Were you on the team there?"
