Kitty was waiting in the Rec room for Terry to show up. Both of them had volunteered to make decorations for the X surprise Party that was going to go on later that week. She was excited, her and Terry hadn't had a chance to talk in a few weeks. She wanted to catch up with her friend, and have fun making some things.
She sat in the Rec Room, with instructions from Betty of what she wanted. She was reading it when she thought she heard someone coming in. She turned to see who it was.
Once Terry finished fighting with her laptop and almost throwing it out of the window - technology and her didn't go well together - she quickly made her way to the Rec Room. She was happy she had volunteered along with Kitty to help with the decorations. She had been meaning to see her friend more often, but because of one thing or the other, she hadn't found the time.
Walking into the room, she smiled brightly at Kitty. "Hey you! How are you?"
Kitty stood and hugged her friend when she got closer. "I am good, you know things going on here and there, but you know me I never let anything get me down for too long." She smiled brightly back at Terry.
"What's been going on with you? We haven't seen each other in a few weeks. Mostly my fault had a few things happened that made me sort of hide away for a few days, but I am better now. Things pass." She shrugged, settling herself back down on the couch. She passed the instruction sheet to Terry, and said, "This is what we need to make."
Terry hugged her back. That's something she really liked about Kitty, she always came right back. Never let anything depress her.
"You should've told me something, Kitty! You know I would've been there for you.. But I'm glad to hear you're better. " She smiled. "As for me, same ol same old. Flirting with boys, getting in trouble...." She chuckled, flipping her hair over one shoulder casually. "Okay. Where do we start?"
"Well, we need to cut up some construction paper and make little rosettes with it and then put green pipe cleaners in to make little rosette flowers." She smiled. She looked at her friend. She never quite got on to flirting but maybe it was high time she got some pointers.
"Terry, how do you flirt without making a fool out of yourself?" She asked as she took a pair of scissors, and handed some to Terry along with a chunk of colored paper.
"Okay." She nodded.
As she took the papers and the scissors, she looked at Kitty a bit surprised at her question. "Oh.. hmm... with practice I guess. I never really thought about it. It's kind of second nature to me." She replied. "Why? Who do you like?" She asked with a knowing smile.
Kitty went into instant blush. Damn... well she supposed she had opened herself up for that with a loaded question like that, especially from the queen? King? of tom boys.
She looked up at Terry from what she was working on, and then said, "Well, yeah some new guy that is here. He is really cute, and nice. Different then the other adults, he is cool. Names, Alex." She shrugged, trying to make it less then it was, but really she had been thinking about him a lot. She hadn't seen him though lately.
Terry smiled sweetly at her friend when she blushed. There was no reason to be embarrassed or anything. No one had to know how to flirt like a pro since day one.
"Alex, uh? Nice name." She said. "Well, if you want to flirt with him, I can help you. It's not that hard. Besides, you're pretty, so it's not like any boy is going to ignore you or anything."
She blinked. Everyone lately was saying that she was pretty. What did they see that she didn't? Sure she thought she was cute, and not at all ugly, but pretty? Maybe it was that she hadn't seen herself yet fully as anything but a tom boy still. She sighed.
"Thanks," she did manage to get out, but she didn't quite believe it yet. "Yeah, is it something you can learn? Or something that you just know and do naturally?" As really all she did naturally or came to her naturally was hitting on boys, and not in a verbal way.
"It's a bit of both. I mean, flirting isn't an exact science. There isn't a formula that will work with all the boys. But there are a few things that are common and kind of like the basics of flirting." Terry didn't like to say she was a pro at flirting, but she was pretty good at it... Okay she was awesome. But she didn't like to brag about it.
Kitty nodded, as the rosette she was working on started to take shape, it was of multi color, light pink with darker pink mixed in. "Well, I suppose I should try it out more. I suppose." Though she doubted any of the guys here would take her seriously about flirting with them, as they all knew her as Kitty the 'tom boy'. She sighed again. Maybe while she was in Japan and she had nothing better to do while her dad was out on business. She could go to the pool and hope there were some cute boys around?
"Oh, by the way, my dad finally decided to do something with me this summer." She rolled her eyes, it wasn't that she didn't love her dad, she did, but sometimes it made her mad when he ignored her. "You'll never believe where I am going. I am going to Japan, on a business trip with him. Doesn't that sound fun?" She added in typical sarcastic Kitty form.
"Of course." Terry said. "You're a great girl and very pretty. I can't see why boys wouldn't like you." And she meant it. Just because Kitty was a bit of a tomboy didn't mean that some boys couldn't see her as what she was, a girl.
She stopped working on her rosette to look at her with excitement on her expression. "Well it does sound fun! Japan's so cool. And I've heard you can get the latest techonolgy really cheap."

She blinked. "Really? Cheap?" Her computer, and gadget mind running wild. Maybe she could get something out of it from her dad. She got a devious look in her eye. It all depended on how much she was left alone.
She shrugged in response to her being a great girl, she just didn't think the boys would be to forgiven after all the hell she gave them in her younger years.
"That's what they've told me." She nodded and gave her a light shrug before going back to her rosette. "But it's so cool you're going to Japan. Almost the other side of the world... The farther I've gone is to the States from Ireland."
She nodded. "Yeah haven't really traveled a lot either. I think Japan would be the farthest for me too." She nodded. "Do you have any flavor of the month this month?" She asked teasingly of her friend.
"Surprisingly, no." She replied chuckling. "But I guess I shoudl find one... Or maybe just wait fr next month and get two instead." She laughed.
Kitty laughed along with her. "Good choice, but can you juggle two with school too?" She asked playing around with her still. She winked at her, and set her finished rosette aside and started on another, bright red this time.
Terry rolled her eyes playfully and snorted. "Two and three!" She laughed again, grinning at Kitty. She finished her rosette a moment after Kitty and began to work on a yellow one. "It's all about organization."
Kitty rolled her eyes at her back, and said, "Whatever, I still trying to get into all this boy girl thing. I probably wouldn't even be able to handle one." She laughed at herself.
"Baby steps, Kitty. Who knows, maybe when you get the hang of it you'll have four." She teased, winking at her.
She laughed even harder. "Oh heaven help me. FOUR!!? Let me just get used to one first, if I could even get anyone interested in me." She rolled her eyes.
"Hey, you will get guys interested in you. Maybe you have already a few and you don't know it... Boys are kind of stupid sometimes and don't know how to say 'I like you' or 'Want to go out with me?'"
That got Kitty blushing more. "You think?" She tried to think of any guys that she knew that even really talked to her much she supposed that there were a few, but to think they liked her? That seemed just well odd. Maybe when she got back to Japan and school started she would think of it more.
She was almost done with her red rosette, and putting on the green pipe cleaner stem on it. She decided to make a leaf for this one and placed it on there too.
She nodded, smiling. "Of course I do," she said honestly. There were many boys in school. Sure at least one had a crush on Kitty.
Terry finished around the same timw with her rosette and started a blue one right away.
She grinned. She supposed she could play around with that idea, and Storm had told her she would help her playing around with make-up and a girls mall shopping day. she couldn't wait for that.
"Storm said she would take me out on a girls day to the mall." She grinned. "Can you believe it? I am actually kinda excited about it."
"Good. because if she didn't do it, I'd drag you with me in my next shopping spree." She chuckled. "Aww, my Kitty is going to be come a woman!" She teased, pretending to cry and giving her a hug her.
Kitty laughed against her friends shoulder, and pretended to be soothing her from her pretend crying. "There there, Terry, it was bound to happen at some point." She giggled out. She then let go, and continued with their project.
"You thought of anything to get Xavier?" She asked, being completely stumped for her part on it.
After the little performance, Terry let go and laughed, going back to her rosette too.
At her question, she shook her head and looked up from her work, "Not yet, though I suppose I should start thinking about it." She chuckled.
"Yeah you and me both." She said. They were supposed to make twenty flowers each, and then of course others would be doing such too, but she didn't know where, or when, these other people were doing them. She didn't really care, she was doing her part, and the others would just do there own too. She wasn't to worried about it at the moment. She was hanging with her friend, and getting something she needed to do done at the moment.
Terry let out a soft chuckle and continued working her flower, which she finished after a few moments and started another one. She liked doing this kind f stuff. It relaxed her.
Kitty sat for a few just concentrating. They had known each other for long enough that they didn't need to always be talking, they were just content with each others company.
Finally, after completely finishing one flower in happy contentment beside her friend. She said, "What are you thinking of doing for your birthday?" Not that she had any reason to be thinking about it any time soon as hers just past a few months back.
Terry shrugged. "Oh, I have no idea. It's been just less than two months since I celebrate it. Still a lot of time to think about and plan it." She said, running a hand through her hair and brushing it off her face.
She smiled. Now she had asked the question it got her mind going. "What if next year we combined our birthdays and had one big party?" She asked. "Could be fun." She nodded.
"Oh, that's a great idea, Kitty!" Terry said excitedly. "I like the idea of one huge party."
She grinned as she finished her other flower, and said, "We will have to get together and plan it when our birthdays come close net year." She grinned.
She was now working on a bright purple one even if it wasn't in the naturally world as a rose color. She figured it would still look pretty in a bouquet somewhere.
"Yeah." She said with a grin. She was already coming up with a few ideas as she worked on her next flower.
Kitty was feeling very content, as she worked along side her friend. Things went on until they finished. "Want to watch some T.V?" she asked.
Terry's finger were relieved when she finished all her rosettes. She raised her amrs over her head and stretched. "Yeah, sure. We deserve some time off after the hard work." She said.
