Who: Wild Child, Magneto NPCs: Random hobos When: Wednesday, 8PM Where: Rochester, abandoned building What: Kyle is running an errand for Magneto Rating & Warnings: "PG"
This mission was easy enough for anyone to understand, even Kyle Gibney. Find the building, go in after dark, run the hobos out, report back. Was easy enough, right? Right! Except that the building was abandoned and therefor not well up kept and was filled with all sorts of terrible smells which were bad for a person with normal senses, but someone with the enhanced senses of a hound? It was hell.
Kyle fought down his gag reflex as he put on his most terrifying face, snarling and roaring and running back and forth through the floors. He tried to be logical about it, he tearing his way through the bottom floor, then climbed up the stories to make sure that it was empty. Once he was sure he had cleared the upper floors, he started back down, only to find the vagabonds had returned to the bottom floor! The smell made Kyle cranky, the return only served to make him flat out angry. Snarling, swiping and biting, he actually took a few chunks of flesh out of the rear ends of a few of the people unfortunate enough to be too slow.
Then he waited, pacing the lower floor for a good half hour to make sure they did not come back, continuing to snarl and roar to make sure they all knew that coming back was a bad idea. When he was at last sure that they were gone for good, he huffed and hurried away from the building and toward the headquarters of the Brotherhood. The building really was not that bad, all it would need was one good super-soak from a mutant who could control water and it would be ready for inhabiting. Gibs grinned ear to ear as he sprinted full speed back to the Brotherhood, thinking how pleased Magneto would be with his efforts, and how pleased MasterMind would be to have a real apartment.
Wild Child stepped quickly down into the underground bunker, he a bit uneasy about being down here, but well, it would not have to be for long, right? He looked quickly around, picking his way back to where Magneto had summoned him the first time. He was pleased with himself that he had managed to find the room the first time, knocking timidly before stepping inside.
"'S done, they ran pretty quick," Kyle announced with a huge, toothy grin, seeming very proud of his efforts. "I patrolled it an' made sure they'd not wanna come back, so it should be good fer ya." Kyle continued to beam up at the much taller, far more regal male, waiting for his further orders, or to just be dismissed. He was really hoping for a 'good job' or a pat on the head, or the chance to make a request, but Gibney knew his place well, and if the boss wanted to dismiss him right after a job, he would be fine with that.
Magneto looked very pleased with this one. "I am.." He paused. "Most pleased." He said as he paced the floor deep in thought. "I am thankful that Gloria made that tunnel for us." He said in thought as he sat down and opened a bottle of water. "So. What do you think of our newly...acquired property?" He asked curiously as he scraped a metal chair across the floor with a metallic scraping sound. "Sit. Be comfortable." He said with a smile. "I do think that the apartment will serve as a great headquarter for us." He mused with a laugh. He was excited, as the brotherhood grew bigger by the day. "When we get the heat turned on you won't have to sleep outside anymore." He said with incredible disapproval. Magneto didn't like them sleeping outside at all.
Gibney blinked, feeling rather... overwhelmed by all of this. Not the chair thing, he was used to things just popping up out of no where thanks to Jason. No, it was everything else his leader was saying that was making him uneasy. He licked his lips, trying to decide how to be... not eloquent, Gibs was quite sure he would never be able to be eloquent, but not... painfully blunt.
"I think Jason'll really like th' rooms." He threw on a huge smile as he said that, shifting to place himself on the chair in an awkward way, he still not used to them, but not wanting to be rude either. All this civilization, it was almost overwhelming the young feral. "I uh... I'll prolly visit him lots there." He was clearly uncomfortable, both with what he was saying, with being in the chair and even with being in the room, ever a fidgety, restless creature, but he was doing his best to behave.
Magneto could tell the young feral was uncomfortable. "Please. Be yourself. I promise you are no worse than anyone else around here." He said as he stood up and opened a window. "Perhaps that will be a little better. It won't be so stuffy in here." He said as he sat back down and looked at the mutant. "I think Jason will like them, but will you be able to control yourself enough to use one. Our goal, is to be as inconspicuous as possible until the time is right. The time to be conspicuous is not the present time. We want to blend in, don't we." He said elegantly.
Gibs gave a slight nod, he shifting in the chair so he was crouched in it rather than trying to sit, hey even that was a step up, he'd spent the last several weeks avoiding chairs all together! He licked his lips at the direct questioning, lowering his eyes, still not entirely comfortable holding eye contact. "I... I'll be ok s' long as I c'n get out an' stretch m' legs sometimes." He looked up and flashed another rather sheepish grin, holding out his clawed hands to point to some of the more... obvious aspects of his mutation. "I don' blend in too well, anyway."
"Well, my young friend, I'll be willing to wager that you are better than you think that you are." He said with a smile. "If Creed could do it, I know you could too." Oooh yes. He went there, but Victor did manage to blend...a little. "Well you are always free to come and go as you please as long as you don't bring any undue attention to yourself." He said with a sly smile. He watched the feral intently. He was an interesting creature really. "So what is it you hope to accomplish by being in my brotherhood?" Oooh good question.
That resulted in a few interesting reactions, the youth getting rather fidgety at the elders confidence in him... what was it with old men and their believing in him? It honestly confused Gibney as, in his mind, he was really just a mutt. The next was a look of confusion on his features. "Creed?" He asked bluntly, brows knitting together. He knew Creed by sight and scent, though the youth who was all but his clone had no idea what his name was or that he had once been part of the Brotherhood. That was probably a good thing.
It was his next reaction which might strike the elder as trouble. "Accomplish..?" he asked, looking confused for a minute. "Well... we're... we're here t'gether an' you saved me an' Jason's here." Oh no, the youth had no great plan, no over arching plan other than that he liked the idea of a Brotherhood, he was grateful to Magneto and... the one he was loyal to was here. There was a distinct difference in Kyles mind between gratitude and loyalty, if the master of magnetism would pick up on this or not, or would even really care, was another story.
